Pale Green Dot, a sustainability-driven fresh produce company, is thrilled to announce its new charity partnership with The Hunger Project-UK.

Pale Green Dot have introduced a voluntary £3 donation to all purchases made by their veg box customers online that will be directly invested in The Hunger Project. This will contribute to projects such as supporting communities in Africa in planting trees which provide sources of nutrition and income; working with women entrepreneurs to obtain microfinance loans and training so they can start their own businesses; and facilitating groups of women to start income-generating projects like poultry farms so they can earn a sustainable income and provide for their families.

The Hunger Project is an international development organisation active in Africa, South Asia and Latin America. Its programs use an innovative, holistic approach to tackle issues such as decent work opportunities, health, education, social justice, the rights of women and girls, the environment and climate change, that are at the root of hunger and poverty around the world. Community-led programs empower people living in hunger to become the agents of their own development and lift their communities above the poverty line for good – this is the sustainable end of hunger and poverty.

Stephanie Lykourgou, Chief Sustainability Officer at Pale Green Dot says of the partnership, "We're proud to be partnering with The Hunger Project in their mission to end hunger and poverty by pioneering sustainable, grassroots, women-centered strategies and advocating for their widespread adoption throughout the world. Adding a £3 donation to orders supports their investment in women and, thus through the ripple effect, this catalyses their children and spouses, their neighbours and the wider community."
